Norwegian Princess Ingrid Alexandra’s Australian stalker handed restraining order
A 63-year-old Australian man who wrote to Norwegian Princess Ingrid Alexandra while she studied at the University of Sydney has been banned from approaching her.
A man from Australia has been banned from approaching Norwegian Princess Ingrid Alexandra for two years after writing a card to the 22-year-old, the Sydney Morning Herald has reported.
A court issued a restraining order for the 63-year-old man, the newspaper reported on Wednesday. He is also prohibited from entering the University of Sydney for two years. The crown princess is currently studying international relations and political economy there.
He wrote a card to Ingrid Alexandra to ask for her friendship, the newspaper quoted the Australian as saying, adding that he had said that it was in no way threatening. He considers the princess a nice person and did not want to upset her, according to the report.

Following the court hearing, the Australian got into an altercation with a photographer and was led away by police, the report added. He was subsequently released on bail.
Princess Ingrid Alexandra has now landed back in Oslo, according to Norwegian media.
Her father, Crown Prince Haakon, had previously announced that his daughter would be cutting short her stay in Australia to be with her mother.
Crown Princess Mette-Marit is suffering from a serious lung condition. According to the Royal Court, her condition has deteriorated significantly recently.
