Deniliquin, NSW: Childcare worker charged after allegedly spraying five-year-old with a hose

A childcare worker in the state south has been charged with assault after allegedly spraying a young child with a garden hose.

Police say officers from Murray River Police District began investigating on December 5 last year after reports a five-year-old girl had been assaulted at an early learning centre in Deniliquin.

It has not yet been confirmed which childcare centre in which the assault occurred.

It is alleged that the girl was sprayed with water from a garden hose on two separate occasions in November 2024.

Following inquiries, a 27-year-old woman was issued a Court Attendance Notice on August 24 this year, charged with two counts of assault school student while attending school.

She is due to appear before Deniliquin Local Court on October 15.
