Toddler found wandering street in Carlingford, Sydney reunited with parents

A child found alone on a Sydney street wearing only underpants has been reunited with his family.

The boy, believed to be aged about 3 or 4 years old, was found on Carlingford Rd at Carlingford, near Darwin St, about 6pm Tuesday.

When found by police, he was only wearing underpants, and was unable to communicate with police.

Authorities knocked on the doors of homes in the vicinity, but nobody was able to identify him.

NSW Police confirmed to 7NEWS.com.au on Wednesday that the boy had been reunited with his parents.

It was the second time in only 24 hours that a young child has been found unaccompanied in Sydney.

Earlier on Tuesday, a little girl was found alone in St Marys. She was reunited with her mother about midday after being found at 8.30am.
