George Street, Sydney CBD: Three men charged after savage city brawl leaves victim critical

Three men have been charged after a violent brawl in Sydney’s CBD left a 20-year-old man in a critical condition early Monday morning.
Emergency services were called to George Street about 2.35am following reports of a fight.
Police from the Sydney City police area command were told a man had allegedly been set upon by a group of people before they fled the scene.

By continuing you agree to our Terms and Privacy Policy.The 20-year-old victim was treated at the scene by NSW Ambulance paramedics for head injuries before being rushed to St Vincent’s Hospital in a serious condition. His condition later worsened, and he remains in a critical state.
Following initial inquiries, police arrested three men – aged 19, 20 and 25 – nearby.
The two younger men were taken to Day Street Police Station, while the 25-year-old was transported to Surry Hills Police Station.
The 19-year-old and 20-year-old were each charged with reckless grievous bodily harm in company and affray. The 25-year-old was charged with affray.
All three men were refused bail and will appear before the Bail Division Local Court 7 on Monday.
Police investigations into the brawl are ongoing.
