Goulburn fatal crash: Man dies after car hits tree in NSW’s Southern Tablelands

NSW’s road toll has sadly risen again after a man died in an early morning crash in the Southern Tablelands at the weekend.

The man was driving his Toyota Hilux on Crookwell Road, about 25kms north of Goulburn, around 2.45am Sunday when his ute left the road and struck a tree, according to NSW Police.

Officers and emergency services were called to the scene but the driver, the only person in the car, couldn’t be saved. He is yet to be formally identified.

So far this year, 90 lives have been lost on NSW’s roads, six more than the same time last year. During the last 12 months, there have been 341 road tragedies and 10,695 serious injuries.

Crookwell Rd, between Woodhouse Lee and Roslyn Road, is closed in both directions while police investigate the crash. Police have advised motorists to avoid the area.

A report will be prepared for the Coroner.
