The bodies of two men have been found after they were washed off rocks south of Sydney.

It’s understood the men were fishing about 2.45pm local time on Monday when they were swept into the sea.

Police were called to the area near Cape Solander Drive in Kurnell and launched a search involving Marine Area Command, Surf Life Savers and the Westpac Rescue Helicopter.

They are yet to be formally identified.
