A woman’s body has been found dead in a parked car outside a police station on the New South Wales South Coast.

Officers made the shocking discovery at Lake Illawarra Police Station around 4.30pm on Friday, however, early inquiries suggest the 48-year-old was inside the vehicle for three days before she was found unresponsive.

Despite paramedics rushing to the scene, she was unable to be saved.
