A man has died after being found with gunshot wounds inside a unit in Sydney’s west, with another man now in hospital.

A man has died and another man has suffered injuries after a shooting in Sydney’s west.

The 38-year-old was found with several gunshot wounds inside a unit on Shale St in Lidcombe just after 4am on Monday, following reports of shots fired.

He was treated at the scene before being taken to hospital, where he died a short time later.

“A second man at the scene suffered non-life threatening injuries during an assault,” police said in a statement.

He was also taken to hospital.

A crime scene has been established and investigations are ongoing.
