A man has died after being found critically injured in Sydney’s southeast.

Emergency services were called to Maloney St in Eastlakes about 12.20pm on Monday, following reports of an injured man found on a footpath.

7NEWS understands the man suffered severe stab wounds, including slashes to his neck.

Paramedics treated the man at the scene, but he died shortly afterwards.

The man’s identity has not yet been confirmed.

Local residents reported hearing sounds of fighting and arguing before the man was found.
