Man seriously injured as he is allegedly stabbed after using public toilet

A man was seriously injured when he was allegedly stabbed in the neck after using a public toilet in NSW’s south.

Emergency crews attended Baylis St, Wagga Wagga about 4pm Thursday.

“Police were told the man was using a public toilet before he was allegedly assaulted and stabbed by another man,” police said.

Paramedics treated the man for injuries to his eye and nose and stab wounds to his neck and leg.

He was transferred to Wagga Wagga Base Hospital in a serious but stable condition.

Police later arrested a 60-year-old man at an address on Sherwood Ave, Kooringal.

He has since been charged with wound person with intent to cause grievous bodily harm and breach of bail and will face Wagga Wagga local court on Friday.
