About 2.20am, emergency services were called to Franklin Street in Parramatta after a car caught fire in the driveway of a home.

Flames spread to the front of the house before fire crews managed to extinguish the blaze. The three people inside escaped unharmed.

Examinations have determined the fire started in the engine bay due to an electrical fault.
