A NSW Police car has ended up on train tracks near a Western Sydney station after veering off the road while attempting to intercept a motorcyclist.

Officers in the marked police vehicle were attempting to stop the motorcycle just before 4.40pm on Saturday when the incident occurred.

Their car left the road at the intersection of George St and Beams Ave Mt Druitt and ended up stranded on the tracks near Mt Druitt train station.

Two police officers suffered minor injuries in the incident, however it is not known quite how it occurred.

Inquiries into the circumstances surrounding the incident continue.
