A woman is in custody after the body of an 84-year-old woman was found inside a nursing home.
The horrific discovery was made around 11.45pm on Thursday, following reports to police.
NSW Police attended the aged care facility on Evans Road, Rooty Hill, confirming in a statement that the body was found inside the building.

A woman, 53, believed to be known to the elderly woman found dead, was arrested at the scene.
Police are yet to share details of her exact relationship with the elderly woman or why she was at the aged care facility.
NSW Police confirmed a crime scene had been established after initial inquiries.
The 53-year-old woman was taken to Mount Druitt Hospital for assessment.
The aged care facility, Our Lady of Consolation, was not immediately available for comment.
No charges have been laid, and a report is being prepared for the coroner.
