Road rage attack Lake Illawarra: NSW Police appeal for information after driver shot at with nail gun
A driver was left shocked and bleeding from his nose after being shot at with what appeared to be a nail gun in a dramatic road rage attack in Illawarra, New South Wales.
Police are calling for witnesses to the terrifying incident that happened last month when an 18-year-old man was driving in Albion Park in Lake Illawarra, a coastal area in the southeast of the state.
Police say the young man was driving his silver Hyundai hatchback east on Tongarra Road about 10.40pm on September 16 when a Ford Territory approached flashing its lights.

“Both cars continued and turned left onto the northbound lanes of the Princes Highway towards Wollongong.”
Police say the Ford then drove next to the Hyundai again before a passenger pulled out what appeared to be a nail gun, aiming it through the side window.
“A short time later, the driver of the Hyundai was struck in the nose by an object, causing it to bleed,” NSW Police said.
The driver of the Ford then sped off while the 18-year-old pulled over at Hargraves Lane where he found a nail in the driver’s side footwell.
Officers from Lake Illawarra Police District have released CCTV images appealing for information about a car whose driver could assist with inquiries. The vehicle is described as a white Ford Territory with black and white number plates.
Anyone with dashcam footage who was travelling on Tongarra Road, the Princes Highway and Station Street, Albion Park between 10:50pm and 11:05pm is urged to come forward and contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
