Boy Swallows Universe and The Mentalist star Simon Baker has pleaded guilty to drink driving in northern NSW.

Baker’s lawyer was present to lodge the plea after the court excused the 55-year-old Hollywood A-Lister from attending the hearing.

The Australian actor was due to appear in Mullumbimby Local Court on Wednesday on a charge of driving under the influence of alcohol with Court documents showing a guilty plea had been entered.

Baker was arrested on Booyung Rd in Nashua, about 30km from Byron Bay, early in the morning on July 20, and was charged by police last month.

Recent images have shown Baker driving in the area around Byron Bay in a Tesla.

Prosecutors withdrew one count of attempting to drive under the influence of alcohol and Baker is now due to appear in court for sentencing on September 11.

Baker was the recipient of a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame for his work in The Mentalist and most recently, he was nominated for a TV Week Logie Award and 11 other awards for his leading role in Netflix drama, Boy Swallows Universe.
