Sydney CBD: Man arrested after woman injured, police car rammed in alleged carjacking chaos
Officers raced to the scene after a man allegedly highjacked a car before ramming into a police car and hitting a pedestrian.

New South Wales Police have arrested a man after an alleged carjacking caused chaos in Sydney’s CBD on Thursday night.
Officers rushed to the intersection of King and Pitt Streets about 9pm after receiving reports of a carjacking.
At the scene, a man is alleged to have stolen a Mazda sedan from a woman driver, aged in her 20s, before driving off along George Street.

By continuing you agree to our Terms and Privacy Policy.A shot time after taking off, the car allegedly collided with a rid share vehicle on Market Street before careering into a parked police car and hitting a woman pedestrian aged in her 50s.
“The woman sustained a cut to her head and was treated by NSW Ambulance paramedics before being taken to hospital in a stable condition,” the force said in a statement provided to The Nightly.
According to police, the driver of the Mazda was not injured.
Police later arrested a 36-year-old man at the scene before he was taken under police guard to St Vincent’s Hospital for mandatory testing.
He remains in hospital and charges have not yet been laid.
