A further three men have been charged over the violent riots that occurred outside a church in Sydney’s southwest last month.

Fourteen men have now been charged, after NSW Police established Strike Force Dribs to investigate the unruly protest that spilled onto the streets of Wakeley on Monday, April 15.

Hundreds of people descended on the Christ the Good Shepherd Church after Bishop Mar Mari Emmanuel was allegedly stabbed while giving a sermon that was live-streamed across multiple platforms and watched by tens of thousands of people.

Riot squad officers battled to protect the church as worshippers attacked police vehicles, shattering windows and slashing tyres along Welcome Street as a helicopter flew overhead.

Rioters threw projectiles including bricks and metal fence posts at police, with 58 officers injured including two who were hospitalised.

About 51 police vehicles were damaged, including 29 that are now unusable.

A 16-year-old was arrested over the stabbing, which authorities have designated a terror attack, and is being treated in hospital after severing his finger during the attack.

Today, investigators commenced a Strike Force Dribs day of action, targeting people believed to have been at the riot.

Police said five firearms prohibition order searches were conducted at homes in Liverpool, Hinchinbrook, Fairfield, Austral and Wetherill Park to ensure community safety.

Three men were arrested when search warrants were executed in Raby, Edensor Park and Picnic Point.

A 25-year-old man was charged with rioting, and hindering or resisting a police officer in the execution of duty. He was refused bail to appear at Campbelltown Local Court today.

A 31-year-old man was charged with rioting, intimidating a police officer during a public disorder with no actual bodily harm, and aggravated break and enter to commit a serious indictable offence — people there. He was refused bail to appear at Fairfield Local Court today.

A 40-year-old man was charged with a number of offences including aggravated break and enter and assaulting a police officer during a public disorder causing actual bodily harm. He was refused bail to appear at Bankstown Local Court today.

Inquiries under Strike Force Dribs are ongoing.
