It is alleged his friend Nasir Uddin, 24, lost control of the Toyota Corolla while attempting to park in the driveway.

Witnesses say Hossain was helping his friend park when the car lurched forward, pinning Hossain against the wall.

Police believe Uddin accidentally hit the accelerator instead of the brake.

It is believed the Toyota veered off the road, ploughed through a fence, and struck the front of the home.

Despite the efforts of first responders, Hossain could not be revived and was pronounced dead at the scene.

Witnesses said Uddin was distraught and had to be consoled by paramedics before he was later arrested by police.

Uddin was taken to hospital for mandatory testing.

He was later taken to Campsie Police Station, where he was charged with negligent driving occasioning death.

He faced Parramatta Bail Court on Monday when he was granted bail on strict conditions including surrendering his passport.

Uddin’s lawyer Upol Amin said Uddin was in “great shock”.

Hossain and Uddin were friends who had both moved from Bangladesh to Sydney for work and study.

“On one hand, we’ve got a significant loss of the victim, loss of one’s brother, son, friend,” Amin said outside court.

“And on the other hand, we’ve got a situation where there’s a matter of sympathy for the accused, who really has to live for the rest of his life with the knowledge that he was behind the wheel of a car that accidentally killed his friend.

“It’s a tragic case.”

Locals told 7NEWS they heard a loud bang, followed by heart-wrenching screams during the incident.

MD Abdul Motin said the scene was confronting.

“We just heard a loud noise ... like someone was hitting a house,” he said.

“We got outside and heard crying ... and we were scared of what happened so we called emergency and just waited.”

Witness Adam said he was rattled by the tragedy.

“I couldn’t sleep, I couldn’t eat,” he said.

“The only thing I was thinking about the whole night was the incident.

Uddin will face court again on October 15.
