Sydney stabbing: Manhunt launched after man in 20s stabbed to death in driveway, organised crime probe
A young Sydney man has died after being stabbed multiple times in the chest outside a home in the city’s west, with police now probing whether the attack is linked to organised crime.
Emergency services raced to Driftway Drive in Pemulwuy about 10.45pm on Thursday after multiple calls reported a man had been stabbed.
The 21-year-old victim was ambushed by two hooded men in the driveway of a home shortly after arriving, suffering horrific injuries.

“It was just horrific,” one shaken resident told the Daily Telegraph. “There was so much screaming and blood.”
Police confirmed two hooded men attacked the victim in the driveway before fleeing the scene. On Friday, Cumberland Police Area Command Detective Superintendent Simon Glasser said police were investigating possible links to organised crime.
“The male and the location are known to police, so that will form part of our investigation,” he said.
Detective Superintendent Glasser described the attack as “serious, high level violence, which we can’t tolerate. And detectives with the assistance of State Crime Command are throwing everything we have at this.”
He urged anyone with information to come forward, noting that the only description available is that the two suspects were dressed in dark clothing and were last seen heading south on Driftway Drive.
“We do ask that anyone that may have CCTV or dashcam footage contact Crime Stoppers or Granville detectives,” he said.
A crime scene remains in place as detectives from Cumberland Police Area Command and the State Crime Command’s Homicide Squad continue their investigation. Police have launched a manhunt for the two men responsible for the fatal attack.
A police spokesperson also said: “We are appealing to anyone with information about this incident to come forward and assist with our investigation. No detail is too small, and all information will be treated in strict confidence.”
Anyone with information is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or via the Crime Stoppers website.
