A popular protein bar has been urgently pulled from shelves after the ‘gluten-free’ snack was found to contain gluten.

The Muscle Nation Supplements Custard protein bar Cookies and Cream was available for purchase in Coles and Woolworths supermarkets across NSW, South Australia, Victoria, Queensland, Western Australia, Tasmania and the ACT.

The protein bars, which have the date markings BBD: 08/12/26 BBD: 09/12/26, were also sold online via Amazon.

“Product display box contains ‘gluten free’ claim, which is not correct,” the recall read.

While the outside box is incorrectly labelled, the individual packets have the correct labelling.

Customers who have a gluten allergy or intolerance may have a reaction to the product if consumed.

The protein bars can be returned to the place of purchase for a full refund.
