A millennial couple who scored WA’s biggest lottery prize in three years has revealed their plans for the huge jackpot.

The pair, who live in Perth’s south, were unveiled as the winners of Thursday night’s $50 million Powerball jackpot, with their ticket the nation’s only division one winner.

They purchased the $28.20 ticket through Lotterywest’s Play Online portal.

The Mandurah pair said while their day-to-day lives wouldn’t change immediately, more family time was in their plans for the future.

“I’ve always dreamed of being a stay-at-home dad and I can’t wait to make that a reality,” the winner said.

“Life with a toddler is very busy, so to be able to slow down and spend more quality time together will be very special.”

He revealed his family has no plans to buy a new property with his winnings, with the locals enjoying their life down in Mandurah.

“We love where we live so we don’t want to move, but we’ll probably get some new gutters and install ceiling fans around the house as well.”

The winner’s wife has a simple plan for the family’s massive winnings — saying she might order a steak the next time they go to the local pub instead of her usual parmi.

Visiting the Lotterywest Winners Room earlier this week, the couple said they could not believe their luck.

“We are in total shock, I only play every now and again,” he said.

“This kind of thing doesn’t happen to normal people like us.”

Lotterywest spokesperson Zoe Wender said in addition to delivering $125 million in prizes to WA’s four division one Powerball winners this year, lottery ticket sales had generated more than $92 million for Lotterywest grants programs.

“It’s fantastic to be able to share the joy of our players winning Lotto by giving back to the Western Australian community.”

The winning numbers for the massive jackpot were 22, 10, 6, 15, 2, 8 and 7, with the all-important Powerball being 13.
