Queensland forklift driver moves car parked in Inala Plaza disabled bay in bizarre vigilante act

A Queenslander has taken matters into his own hands, by moving a car that was parked in the disabled bay in a bold move.
Photos posted to Facebook show a man using a forklift to move a red Suzuki hatchback that was parked in the disabled bay outside Inala Plaza in Brisbane, and moving it onto the road outside the shopping centre.
It’s unclear whether or not the owner of the vehicle had a right to park in the disabled bay, however the pictures shared did not show a disabled parking permit visible.

Brisbane local, Wayne Beckman told The Courier-Mail that he had “just parked” when he saw the forklift drive past and thought “maybe there was a palette he had to pick up”.
“And all of a sudden he’s gone underneath a car and picked it up … He went out the top car park, down the road with the car on the forklift about 100 metres down the road, and then parked the car near a garden,” he said. “I’ve never seen anything like it.”

The original photos were posted in the Inala Community Page with the caption: “Valet parking now available at Inala Plaza”, leaving commenters divided about whether or not the forklift driver made the right decision.
“Reckon poor old forklift operator has had enough of idiots parking where they shouldn’t park”, one commenter said. “Good on him.”
Others weren’t so positive, saying: “Damn good way to damage a car... wait till the forklift driver cops a bill and possible charges”.
A post from Brisbane on Facebook shared the photos, and added some important context.
“We’ve been contacted to clarify that the Suzuki Swift had been parked across two disabled car parks for around six weeks”, they said.
“Repeated efforts were made to get the owner to move it, with no success, and police reportedly would not act.”
The owner of the red Suzuki is not yet known.
