A young Brisbane man who disappeared while on holidays in Bali earlier this month has been found alive and well, his family has confirmed.

Jackson Parker, 22, was reported missing when his family lost contact with him while he was in the travel hotspot.

He had not been seen or heard from since November 8.

On Tuesday evening, more than two weeks since his last contact, came the news everyone was hoping for — Parker has been found alive and well.

His father had booked a flight to join search efforts in Bali just before consular staff made contact with Jackson.

The family say they are relieved.

A post to Facebook page Bali expats, purportedly by an aunt, also delivered the update that Parker “has been found”.

Details of how and why he went off-grid are yet to be revealed, but his disappearance triggered a desperate search for answers.

His family earlier posted on a Facebook page for expats living in Bali, asking people to share any information they may have.

“We are trying to find a missing Australian (our son) and hope some of you can share this message and info with anyone in Bali in the tourist industry, hotels, bars, hostels, tourist operators, authorities — anyone you know,” they said.

“Jackson Parker is listed as missing since November 8 and his family are desperate to find him.”

Parker’s parents said local authorities had been alerted but “getting his information out there is important”.

“It’s extremely out of character for him to not be in contact,” they said.
