Bus driver trapped and seriously injured in crash at MacGregor intersection in Brisbane
A Brisbane bus driver has been seriously injured in a crash into an overpass, while passengers were also hurt by the “sudden stop” of the crash.
The man, believed to be in his 70s, became trapped when he crashed into the side of the overpass at the busy Mains Rd and Kessels Rd intersection in MacGregor about 8pm on Sunday.
It took about 40 minutes to free him from the wreckage, before he was treated for what paramedics described as “significant lower body injuries”.

Four passengers were also taken to hospital — all in a stable condition — including a man in his 20s who suffered facial and shoulder injuries.
“Most of patients suffered muscular-skeletal injuries which is in keeping with the sudden stop of the bus,” Queensland Ambulance Service medical director Stephen Rashford said.
He described the impact of the crash as “very reasonable”.
