Lotto: Brisbane couple ditches 9-to-5 after winning $4.3m in Saturday Gold Lotto
A Brisbane couple are calling it quits on the daily grind after discovering they have scooped a jaw-dropping $4.3 million in the weekend’s Saturday Gold Lotto draw.
The Milton-based pair held one of seven division one winning entries nationally in draw 4593, drawn Saturday, 26 July 2025.
Their total prize? A cool $4,304,029.24.

“Haha! Jesus Christ!” one of the men laughed, speaking to officials from The Lott.
“It feels more real now that you’ve confirmed the win. It’s so surreal – how unbelievable!”
“It’s a staggering amount of money to win. We’re trying to formulate it all. This type of sh.t doesn’t happen all the time!”
“I just randomly bought a System entry on Saturday. I definitely didn’t expect to win!”
While the celebrations have been deliberately low-key, the couple say they’re already thinking about how to put their new fortune to use.
“We’re obviously going to pay off the house and give up work!” he said.
“We’re in our 50s and I think it’s time to start living our life to the fullest.”
Their winning System 9 entry was purchased through The Lott app, the official platform for Australia’s lotteries.
Nationwide, there were seven division one winners: three in New South Wales, two in Victoria, and one each in Queensland and Western Australia.
The win pushes The Lott’s division one tally to 251 so far in 2025, including 58 claimed by Golden Casket customers.
In 2024, Saturday Gold Lotto created 149 millionaires across the country, with 316 division one wins totalling more than $400 million.
The winning numbers in draw 4593 were 17, 23, 40, 42, 44 and 2, with supplementary numbers 27 and 39.
