Cooloola Cove: Police investigate alleged stabbing death of a 50-year-old woman

Residents of a quiet coastal village in Queensland have been left heartbroken after a woman was allegedly stabbed to death in her home.
Police were called to a house at Creekside Esplanade in Cooloola Cove around 7.15pm on Sunday following reports that a woman in her 50s had been stabbed.
The horrific incident took place in a residential estate only 100 metres from the town’s shopping centre, the Courier Mail reported.

Police said a man in his 50s is assisting police with their inquiries.
The Cooloola Cove area has a small population of only 3,000 people.
Neighbours told the Courier Mail they heard screams before the woman was found dead, and police had visited the property numerous times before the stabbing occurred.
A crime scene has been declared and investigations are ongoing to determine the circumstances surrounding the woman’s death.
