A crime scene has been declared after human remains were found at a popular national park in Queensland.

A member of the public is believed to have stumbled upon the remains about 11.35am on Friday.

Police said they were called to Repeater Station Rd in Springbrook, on the Gold Coast, where what are believed to be human bones were recovered.

“Investigations are underway into the circumstances,” police said.

“Searches are occurring in the area today.”

Anyone with information is urged to contact police.
