The alleged driver of the white LDV dual cab ute, a 41-year-old from Regents Park, was not injured.

The father and son had been walking to get ice cream from a local service station when they were hit.

Footage from the scene showed a broken children’s bike lying on the footpath.

The driver was taken into custody at the scene and was charged with two counts of manslaughter.

He will appear at Beenleigh Magistrates Court on Monday.
