The desperate search for a missing girl is intensifying, as her devastated family and friends plead for help after the 17-year-old failed to board a flight last Thursday.

Pheobe Bishop was last seen at about 8.30am on May 15 at Airport Dr in Bundaberg, a regional city in Queensland.

She was due to board a booked flight from Bundaberg Regional Airport but never checked in.

She has not been seen or heard from since, which has been described as out of character by her family.

Pheobe is described as being about 180cm tall, with a pale complexion, long dyed red hair and hazel eyes.

At the time of her disappearance, she was wearing a green tank top and grey sweatpants and was carrying luggage.

Police have conducted a land search of Airport Dr and the surrounding areas but have yet to locate the missing teen.

Her worried family has been posting daily on social media and has put up 400 posters across Bundaberg, Bargara, Childers, Biggenden, and neighbouring towns in hopes of finding her.

“My heart is breaking and so are those of her siblings, her family and our friends,” Pheobe’s mother Kylie Johnson said.

“I honestly have no words to describe our heartbreak, heartache or fear that we won’t see or hear from her again.”

In a direct message to her daughter, Johnson wrote:

“Flea Flea my heart tells me that you won’t see this but I love you more than anything in the world and I would be homeless just to hear you say ‘Hey Mummzie what’s doing’ or ‘take this Photos down before I lose my shit!’

“I would honestly sell my soul to hear those words.”

Johnson said in addition to her daughter’s sudden silence and lack of social media activity, there have been no bank transactions made since Wednesday.

She said this was unusual because Pheobe “spends money like water”.

The mother has dismissed speculation that her daughter ran away, saying Pheobe “would never leave her family without contact”.

“We are lost at what to do next and people keep asking has she RUN AWAY?” Johnson said.

“If you knew Pheobe you would know that she is free spirited and loves hard!

“She is loyal to the core and cutthroat.”

The heartfelt plea has prompted many strangers online to share the family’s posts.

Volunteers have joined the search, scouring bushland and the nearby river around the airport.

Police and the family are appealing for help from the public.

Police are calling for dashcam footage from the Airport Dr and Samuels Rd area between 8.30am and 9.30am on May 15.

Anyone with information about the girl’s whereabouts is urged to contact police.
