Kangaroo attack: Queensland man flown to hospital after being clawed by huge roo at his Willows home
A man has been seriously injured after being attacked by a hulking kangaroo in Queensland.
The man, in his 50s, was involved in an altercation with a two-metre-tall kangaroo at a home on Little Gem Rd in Willows, Queensland’s Central Highlands just before 12pm on Wednesday.
He sustained hip injuries and serious lacerations to his arms and chest during the altercation, Queensland Ambulance Service said.

Willows Rural Fire Brigade first officer in charge Rick Underhill told the ABC that the man was attacked moments after stepping outside his home.
“He came out of his house, walked around to get into his ute to drive up to the shop and there was a buck [male kangaroo] and doe [female kangaroo] there and the doe took off and the buck bloody attacked him and really attacked him in a big way,” Underhill said.
Underhill estimated the kangaroo to be around two metres tall and noted kangaroos had lived in the area for years without issue.
Despite that, authorities did issue a public warning about two large male kangaroos in Willows, as they may pose a danger.
“These roos have been around here for years and we’ve never had a problem before, but unfortunately, these two big bucks have taken it in their heads to attack people,” Underhill said.
