Kuttabul: Man charged with DUI after two killed in three-car highway caravan crash

A driver has been charged with serious offences, including driving under the influence, after two people died following a chaotic road crash involving three cars and a caravan.
Police have charged a 65-year-old man following an investigation into the fatal traffic crash in Kuttabul on Saturday, December 28, 2024.
It will be alleged that at around 2.35pm, a Toyota Hilux utility was travelling north along the Bruce Highway when it struck a Chevrolet Silverado towing a caravan and a Toyota Kluger.

The 65-year-old driver of the Toyota Hilux from Bloomsbury was issued with a notice to appear on Wednesday, April 23.
He was charged with one count of driving under the influence of liquor (UIL) and two counts of dangerous operation of a vehicle causing death while affected by an intoxicating substance and is expected to appear in Mackay Magistrates Court on Monday, May 26.
