Logan Central shooting leaves man seriously injured after Queensland Police respond to knife incident

Queensland police have shot a man who was allegedly carrying a knife and threatened officers at a suburban shopping strip.

Queensland Police have shot a man in Logan, leaving him seriously injured, after he allegedly threatened them with a knife.

Police were called to an incident at Logan Central overnight, following reports of an armed man with a knife making threats.

When officers engaged with the 27-year-old man, police allege he approached them with the weapon.

He was subsequently shot by police.

Queensland police say the officers immediately provided first aid before he was taken to Princess Alexandra Hospital.

The man remains in a stable condition.

A crime scene has been declared, and there is no ongoing risk to public safety.

The matter is being investigated by the Ethical Standards Command, with oversight from the Crime and Corruption Commission.
