A young motorcyclist has died after colliding with a ute on an Ipswich highway.

Emergency services responded to reports a Yamaha Yzf-r3 motorcycle and Isuzu D-max ute had crashed southbound on the Centenary Highway at White Rock about 3pm on Friday.

The rider, a 23-year-old Ripley man, died at the scene.

A 49-year-old Thornlands man, the driver and sole occupant of the Isuzu, was physically uninjured.

The Forensic Crash Unit is investigating the circumstances of the crash.

Anyone with information, including dash cam vision, is asked to contact Queensland Police.
