Hundreds attend vigil for alleged murder victim Pheobe Bishop.

The community has paid a touching tribute to slain Queensland teenager Pheobe Bishop, taking part in a colourful convoy to commemorate her love of the outdoors and passion for cars, just as heartbreaking details about her boyfriend were revealed.

The convoy travelled from Gin Gin into Bundaberg, crossing the Burnett River and making its way to Bundaberg Regional Airport on Sunday — the destination the 17-year-old was last seen near, the day she went missing on May 15.

“Anyone that knew Phee knew she loved the outdoors — she got her passion for cars from her poppy and dad, and her passion for 4x4ing and camping from me and her brothers,” Pheobe’s mother, Kylie Johnson, posted before the event.

Pheobe was allegedly murdered by two of her Gin Gin housemates, tragically, before she could ever reach the airport and board her flight to WA to see her boyfriend.

The 50 vehicle strong convoy, with cars, motorbikes and 4WDs, some decorated with butterflies and signs calling for “Justice for Pheobe”, was described as “emotional and powerful”. Those in attendance wore t-shirts with brightly coloured butterflies, “Forever 17” and “In loving memory of Pheobe” emblazoned on the back.

“Bundy showed up in full force, and the love could be felt everywhere,” Night Fox Productions, the photographer who captured the event, posted to Facebook.

“We started in her hometown of Gin Gin, made our way through South Kolan and Sharon, with people lining the roads—waving, cheering us on, and showing their love.

“It was truly something special to witness.”

They added that the turnout was “absolutely amazing” with cars for miles.

The convoy came just as details of the tragic reason Pheobe was separated from her boyfriend were revealed by his father.

Her boyfriend was identified by The Daily Mail as 18-year-old Levi, with the young man’s father, Rick, telling the outlet he was forced to move with his children to WA after Levi’s mother was killed in a car crash.

“Their beautiful mum had a car accident on New Year’s Eve (in) 2020, and the kids would go past the site every day on the school bus,” Rick told the Daily Mail.

“It was too hard on them, the constant reminder.”

The Daily Mail says Rick spoke on his 18-year-old son’s behalf.

“Levi absolutely adored Pheobe,” Rick said.

“They would video chat all night, every night, falling asleep — and then they would tell each other who was sleep-talking the next day.

“It was a bit cute.”

Phoebe and Levi were going to go camping on WA’s south coast, and the young man had splurged on a Canon camera for his girlfriend.

“It’s so heartbreaking, seeing what could have been a beautiful future together shattered into pieces,” Rick said.

Following the touching convoy, Ms Johnson took to her Facebook page to thank everyone who took part in the day for her daughter.

“My Phee Phee would have loved this! Thank you for the love, acceptance and support you all showed today,” she posted.

After extensive searches and investigations, Pheobe’s roommates, James Wood, 34, and Tanika Bromley, 33, were charged with her murder, and police alleged they moved her body several times.

Mr Wood and Ms Bromley did not appear in court when the matter was first mentioned on June 6. Their cases are due to return to court in August.
