Pheobe Bishop’s sister has made a heartfelt plea to the Bundaberg community as locals gathered for a second time to honour the allegedly murdered teenager with a candlelight vigil.

Family, friends and hundreds of devastated Bundaberg residents gathered gathered on Monday night at Buss Park to pay their respects and share fond memories of the 17-year-old.

Pheobe was declared missing after she failed to check in for a flight from Bundaberg to visit her boyfriend in Western Australia on May 15.

On Friday, police confirmed they found human remains near the Good Night Scrub National Park outside of Gin Gin, but are yet to confirm if they are Pheobe’s.

Pheobe’s housemates James Wood, 34, and Tanika Bromley, 33, have been charged with her murder.

Her sister Kaylea choked back tears as she told the crowd that Pheobe’s name would “always be spoken” among their family and community.

“She will never die within us,” she said.

“She will always live on.”

Kaylea also reflected on her bond with Pheobe, which could be likened to the typical ups and downs of sisterhood.

While she admitted that “siblings p*ss you off” and “grind your gears”, she urged the crowd to “cherish it” and never “take it for granted”.

“Love every minute of it, because I would pay a million bucks to have that b***h (Pheobe) walk through my door and punch me in the arm,” she said, overcome with emotion.

Pheobe’s mother Kylie Johnson also spoke at the memorial, saying she had no words to describe what she has been through since her daughter went missing.

“Now unfortunately, we know that she is not going to come home to us,” she told the crowd.

“Phee was more than glorious.

“She was compassionate, she was caring, she was resilient, she was relentless at times.”

Attendees at the vigil laid flowers, candles and photos of Pheobe, with many writing messages of love and support as they paid respect.

Ms Johnson shared on Facebook that a 4x4 convoy will take place next Sunday to honour one of Pheobe’s favourite passions.

“Anyone that knew Phee knew that she loved the outdoors, she got her passion for cars from her poppy and dad and her passion for 4x4ing and camping from me and her brothers,” Ms Johnson wrote on Facebook.

Pheobe’s friends and the wider Gin Gin community have been invited to meet at the Gin Gin Motel and drive to Bundaberg Airport.

People have been encouraged to wear bright colours or clothing with butterflies.
