A 14-year-old girl has been charged with murder after a man was killed in an alleged stabbing in Queensland.

Emergency services were called to a caravan park at Point Vernon, in the Fraser Coast region, at 9pm on Saturday night.

A 24-year-old man was found with a stab wound and rushed to Hervey Bay Hospital, but he died from his injuries on arrival.

Police arrested a 14-year-old girl nearby and charged her with murder.

A Queensland Police spokesperson confirmed the man and the teenager knew each other.

The girl will appear before Hervey Bay Childrens Court on Monday morning.

Queensland Police have urged anyone with information about the alleged murder to come forward.
