A Queensland Police officer has been stood down and charged after winding up in an alleged drink driving incident.

The 41-year-old female senior constable from Brisbane Region has been charged with failing to provide a breath test and obstructing police officers, allegedly while she was off duty.

“In keeping with our commitment to high standards of behaviour, transparency and accountability, we have undertaken to inform the public when a member of the Service faces serious allegations of misconduct,” Qld Police said in a statement.

“This does not mean that the allegations against the member have been substantiated.”

The senior constable is expected to appear in the Cleveland Magistrates Court on March 10.
