Police are assisting partner agencies with their investigations into the collapse.

In January 2020, a 33-year-old worker was killed after being trapped under heavy machinery, leading to several charges under the Coal Mining Safety and Health Act including making industrial manslaughter an offence for an employer or senior officer.

Another worker was fatally injured at the mine in November 2021.
