The bark of a resident's pet cavoodle has been enough to see off thieves at a Brisbane home.

When it comes to cavoodle Teddy, his bark is probably bigger than his bite.

But that attribute appears to have come into handy when a would-be intruder arrived at his Brisbane home.

CCTV footage shows how the tiny dog foiled a potential robbery when an unknown intruder abruptly turned around and left the Yeronga property as Teddy started barking loudly in the early hours of last Thursday.

Owner Amanda Bird said she was woken by the “most horrendous barking I’ve ever heard from him”.

“I was woken up quite suddenly. I was in a deep sleep,” she told 7NEWS.

The intruder can be seen getting into a car with a group of people and leaving the street.

The group is believed to have been involved in a robbery in the same suburb that night.

Police are yet to catch them.
