Greenacre murder: Woman, 53, accused of murdering and dismembering husband, last seen over a year ago

Police have charged a western Sydney woman with allegedly murdering and dismembering her husband.

Homicide Squad detectives allege the 53-year-old Greenacre woman cut up her husband’s body to hide his remains.

The charge comes almost a year after police began investigating the man’s disappearance.

In July 2023, police were called to a home at Juno Parade in Greenacre following reports a 62-year-old man had not been seen since May 2023.

Police deemed his disappearance suspicious and commenced inquiries to locate the man, including a public appeal for information.

Following investigations, detectives arrested the 53-year-old wife at a hospital in Bankstown on the afternoon of October 3.

She was taken to Bankstown Police Station at about 10am on Friday where she was charged with murder DV.

Meanwhile, detectives and specialist officers executed crime scene warrant at a home on Juno Parade in Greenacre.

The woman was remanded in custody after facing Bankstown Local Court on Friday. She is due to appear before Burwood Local Court on Wednesday, December 11.

Investigations under Strike Force Tannerie continue.
