A man has suffered burns to his arms and legs in a backyard bonfire incident in Townsville at the weekend.

The man in his 30s suffered the fire-related injury, believed to be related to a bonfire, at a home in Jensen at 6.44pm on Sunday.

Paramedics rushed to the scene and treated him for burns to his arms and legs.

He was taken to Townsville University Hospital in a stable condition.

A Queensland Fire Department spokesperson said a crew attended the scene and a fire on the property was extinguished by 7.50pm.

Later that night, a man in his 50s was burnt in a barbecue incident at a home in Eton at 8.56pm.

Paramedics treated him for burns to his hands, arms and abdomen before he was taken to Mackay Hospital in a stable condition.
