A witness to the “horrifying” shooting at a Queensland pub that left four seriously injured has described just how close he came to being in the firing line.

A young woman is still fighting for life, while three men remain in serious but stable conditions in hospital, after a shooting at Fitzy’s on Bryants Rd in Loganholme about 8.15pm on Saturday.

The shooting took place during a live sporting event where more than 100 people, including families with young children, had gathered to watch.

Stephen March was asked to join the boxing fight night as a judge, and had sat through several junior bouts before an intermission was called.

During the break March went for a walk and decided to head outside when he heard popping and saw flashes out of the hotel’s front door.

“When I got near the door, about five feet away, that’s when I heard the gunshots,” he told 7NEWS.

“If I had have been another 10 seconds earlier, I would have been outside standing around somewhere (where the shots were fired).”

March said that he thought it was a prank at first, but then saw people running inside screaming and crying.

“It didn’t register that it was gunshots,” he said.

“I walked outside and saw a person lying on the walkway, I noticed there was a fair bit of blood. There was a couple of people around trying to help them.”

March said he saw a man sitting beside them on the walkway, holding a hand to his chest which was covered in blood.

“Everything happened so quick,” he said.

What March didn’t know at the time was that he had potentially just missed being shot by drive-by gunmen wearing balaclavas and gloves who peppered the pub with at least half a dozen bullets.

The person March saw laying on the walkway is believed to be a 19-year-old woman from Jimboomba who was taken to Princess Alexandra hospital with gunshot wounds to her neck and head.

She has undergone emergency surgery and as of Sunday evening remains in a critical and unstable condition.

The three other victims, aged 38, 37, and 27, all received gunshot wounds to their abdomens, with the 38-year-old man also shot in the arm. They have each also undergone emergency surgery and all remain in serious but stable conditions in hospital.

“I saw people racing inside the door, trying to get away,” March said.

“People were running everywhere... people were crying, there was a lot of commotion going on.”

March said he saw two of the shooting victims being taken inside the foyer, with bystanders treating them on the ground, and a third further taken to an area further inside.

Police continue to investigate the motive behind the shooting.

The fourth victim he said was “not in a good way” and was too injured to be moved from the walkway.

Vision shared to 7NEWS shows the immediate aftermath of the shooting, with the arena packed with spectators and a number of people hiding beneath the boxing ring.

The gunmen fled the scene and a Mitsubishi was later found burnt out by a road about 15 minutes south in Waterford.

CCTV from nearby homes revealed the men had been picked up by a second car after setting the Mitsubishi alight.

Police believe one of the men from the Mitsubishi may have been injured or burnt during this process.

A second car, identified by police as a ute, was also found set alight later the same night, with police still investigating if the car was linked to the shooting.

“I feel sorry for the people who got shot... it was a family night out,” March said.

No arrests have been made and police continue to investigate the cause of the shooting.

Anyone with information or footage from the incident is urged to contact police.
