Woman arrested after car driven through carnival in Logan

Horrified carnival-goers have watched on helplessly as a car was driven through the middle of the attractions, forcing people to jump out of the way south of Brisbane.

Emergency crews were called to the Wonderland Fun Fest at Shailer park in Logan about 7.30pm on Saturday after multiple calls were made about a silver BMW being driven through a carnival.

People were forced to jump out of the way of the car as it drove dangerously close to patrons visiting attractions.

Attendees managed to stop the car and held the driver until police arrived.

Police said a woman in her 40s has been taken into custody with investigations into the dangerous driving incident ongoing.

Wonderland Fun Fest organisers released a statement acknowledge the incident and confirming no one was injured.

“We would like to acknowledge an incident that occurred at Wonderland Fun Fest involving a unauthorised vehicle entering the event area,” they said.

“We want to reassure everyone that thankfully, no one was injured.”

Orgnaisers said they have taken further precautions for the event, which is due to continue as planned on Sunday night.

“The safety of our guests, staff and families is incredibly important to us, and the police are currently investigating,” they said.

“Thank you everyone for your understanding. We’re incredibly relieved that everyone is safe.”
