A young woman has been severely injured when her car crashed into the back of a truck on a rural Queensland road.

The woman in her 20s was driving on Oakey Pittsworth Rd at Aubigny, near Toowoomba, about 6pm on Sunday when she is believed to have lost control of her car.

She crashed into the back of a cattle truck that was parked on the side of the road.

Firefighters took about an hour to free her from the wreckage.

She was treated at the scene for significant leg and arm injuries, according to Queensland Ambulance Service.

The woman may also have suffered a spinal fracture.

A LifeFlight rescue helicopter took her to Princess Alexandra Hospital in a serious condition.
