Regional Victoria bus and truck crash: Female bus driver seriously injured, three students on board

A school bus with students on board has rolled after colliding with a truck in western Victoria.
The Warracknabeal Special Developmental School bus was driving near Minyip, more than three hours northwest of Melbourne, when the crash happened about 8.30am on Thursday at the intersection of Stawell-Warracknabeal and Minyip-Dimboola roads.
The bus was on its way to the special development school with three children on board at the time.

The 56-year-old female bus driver was trapped in the wreckage for more than an hour before emergency services rescued her at 9.45am and airlifted her to Alfred Hospital with serious injuries.
The truck driver received minor injuries and was taken to Horsham hospital, where he is also assisting police with their enquiries.
A Minyip resident said, “I was relieved to hear all the kids got out, but the road is still blocked and the bus driver was trapped for quite a while.”
“Quite a few people have kids on the bus. One parent told me all the kids are doing okay, just a little bit rattled as you could expect,” she told the Herald Sun.
The truck involved was reportedly a B-double carrying hay. Police are investigating the circumstances of the crash.
