A heart-wrenching single-vehicle crash in Queensland has resulted in the death of a three-year-old child.

The child was a passenger in a Mitsubishi ASX that crashed in Rosedale late on Wednesday

According to Queensland Police, the vehicle veered off Lowmead Road and collided with a nearby object around 7.30pm.

Despite the immediate response from bystanders and emergency services, the young child was pronounced dead at the scene.

The 38-year-old female driver, who sustained minor injuries, was transported to Bundaberg Hospital.

An eight-month-old passenger in the vehicle was fortunately unharmed.

The Forensic Crash Unit is currently investigating the circumstances surrounding the tragic incident. Authorities are urging anyone with information to come forward to assist in the investigation.
