An investigation is underway after a secret recording device was found onboard a Royal Australian Navy ship.
The Australian Defence Force said the camera was found in a cabin on HMAS Leeuwin but Tasmanian Senator Jackie Lambie told Parliament on Wednesday the device was actually in the female showers facility.
“Even more disturbing are claims that footage from these cameras may have been uploaded online before the cameras were discovered,” she said.

“How many of how many of our female soldiers sailors have unknowingly been recorded in their most private moments?”
The Leeuwin remains docked in Cairns while the investigation is underway.
In a statement, the ADF said it was taking the incident extremely seriously and does not tolerate unacceptable behaviour in any form.
The ADF became aware of the recording device incident on October 11.
It has referred the incident to the Joint Military Police Unit, says it is working with civilian authorities and that support is being provided to affected crew.
“As the matter is currently under investigation and to protect the privacy of the affected individuals, Defence is unable to provide further comment at this time,” the statement concluded.
