Six people arrested in dramatic police pursuit on Melbourne freeway after aggravated burglary

Multiple people have been arrested in a dramatic ending to a police pursuit in Melbourne’s southeast on Tuesday afternoon.
Aerial footage captured by the 7News chopper shows a large police response along the Monash Freeway, with traffic halted in at least one direction.
In a statement issued to 7News.com.au, Victoria Police confirmed six people had been arrested following an aggravated burglary in Brighton East.

By continuing you agree to our Terms and Privacy Policy.“An occupant was woken by noise inside the Clonaig Street property just after 5.30am,” the release said. “The offenders stole two vehicles and fled. No one was injured during the incident.”
“One of the vehicles, a Nissan 4WD, was observed being driven erratically on Eastlink and was monitored by police through multiple Eastern and South Eastern suburbs before it was intercepted in Chadstone just after midday.”
A second vehicle was also recovered after a crash in Endeavour Hills.
The Monash Freeway is one of Melbourne’s major freeways, with the incident causing significant delays for motorists.
