Man ‘wearing pirate hat’ caught speeding 100km/h over limit in Murray Mallee
A man was allegedly caught speeding 100km/h over the speed limit while wearing a “pirate hat and goggles” in South Australia.
A speed camera spotted the motorcyclist travelling 151km/h in a 50km/h zone on Kulde Rd at Tailem Bend, Murray Mallee just before 12.30pm Friday, police said.
Moments later, the same motorbike was photographed heading in the opposite direction at 146km/h.

Police later attended a home on Tailem Bend where they found the bike and the 54-year-old rider.
The Coonalpyn man tested positive for methamphetamine and was arrested.
He was charged with two counts of driving at an extreme speed, driving while being disqualified, driving with incorrect number plates, failing to wear a helmet and contravening mandatory alcohol interlock scheme conditions.
The driver will face Murray Bridge Magistrates Court on Monday.
