A 53-year-old North Haven man was killed in a crash in Adelaide’s outer northern suburbs on Monday morning.

He was the driver and sole occupant of a silver Mitsubishi station wagon which crashed under a bridge on Purling Ave at Edinburgh about 6.20am

He died at the scene, becoming the 79th person to die on a South Australian road so far this year.

Investigators attended the scene along the train line near the old Holden Factory to determine the cause of the crash, and closed roads have since reopened.

Anyone who witnessed the crash or who may have dashcam or CCTV footage is urged to contact Crime Stoppers.
